SJDA-UK is organising this event to prepare Sudanese FRCPath candidates for the exam and equip them with the necessary skills; familiarise doctors with the UK pathology training structure and further develop training standards.

Course Outline

The course will assume a similar format of UK based FRCPath courses. There will be two parallel courses for both parts as follows: Part One Course: A five-day course in the style of question-based system review, followed by mock exam. run by UK consultants and senior registrars in the style of mock exams followed by lectures and discussions. Part Two Course: A Seven-day preparatory course of four components. The course speakers –mostly UK consultants- have knowledge of the Royal College mock examination:

  • Mock examination under strict exam conditions over two days
  • Feedback, review and analysis of the candidate’s performance
  • Slide Seminars
  • Lectures on general topics and tips for the exam

FRCPath Part 1 Course

FRCPATH 2 Course

Course dates: 2-9 January 2019 (5-6 Jan: Mock exam)

Venues: National Helth Laboratory (STAC) and the EDC at SMSB.

Maximum Number of expected delegates: 21 candidates Description: A seven-day preparatory course of four components. The course speakers –mostly UK consultants- have knowledge of the Royal College exam:

  • Mock examination under strict exam conditions over two days
  • Feedback, review and analysis of the candidate’s performance
  • Slide Seminars
  • Lectures on general topics and tips for the exam

Each delegate will receive a course folder/booklet on day one of the courses. It will be similar to that given to actual exam candidate.

Fees: 200 USD for histopathology trainees living in Sudan, 400 USD for histopathology trainees living outside Sudan.

  • While we make every effort to run the workshop as advertised, we reserve the right to change the timetable and/or the teaching staff without prior notice and to cancel the workshop without liability (in which case there will be a full refund of course fees to delegates). 
  • Cancellations and transfers at short notice will be charged as follows:8 – 21days before start of course – 50% of fee
    0 – 7 days before start of course – full fee

Registration for candidates from Out side Sudan: The Sudanese Junior Doctors Association is happy to issue an official letter for you to confirm your attendance for the course, i.e to help with the visa if you require one. And our organising committee in Sudan is working to help with accommodation recommendation and to facilitate your stay in Sudan as much as possible.
