Oral & poster presentations

A few abstracts will be chosen for display or presentation during the academic day.  The abstracts were selected after rigorous evaluation & Prizes will be awarded for best presentations/posters.

Transforming junior doctors to future leaders

Keynote Speaker: Prof. Allam Ahmed

A prominent academic & expert in the field of technology and knowledge transfer to achieve sustainable development. Currently a Senior Lecturer (SPRU – Science Policy Research Unit), University of Sussex, UK and a founding member of the World Association for Sustainable Development (WASD). With more than 25 years of relevant experience and impressive educational background, he will deliver his keynote speech in the memory of Dr Babiker Abdelhamid to guide junior doctors in their endeavour to be future the leaders of in Sudan. 

Parallel Workshops

Four parallel workshops: where participants will learn and discuss different topics that relate to their training and career progression in the UK.

Personal effectiveness and Resilience ‎Workshop

This workshop aims to discuss the mechanism to avoid burnout and promote dynamic thriving with full engagement thorough reflection, self-awareness exercises, and share experience among others.

Audit and QIP Workshop

An ingeniously-designed interactive workshop based on small groups discussions, activities and short talks. The participant will gain the necessary skills and knowledge to recognise the different uses of quality improvement processes which will hopefully help them with their future projects.

Preparing for a consultant post Workshop

This workshop provides information on how to secure consultant post, contract negotiations and navigating the managerial roles of consultants.

Health systems

This workshop provides information on how the NHS works and how better contribute to the development of the NHS, in addition to transferrable skills across different health systems.

Plenary sessions

Plenary one:  Role of Sudanese doctors in the NHS in developing health system in Sudan

 

Plenary two: Panel discussions of the following topics:

  • Part A – Abstract Presentations
  • Part B – Dr Babikir Abdelhamid Honorary Lecture
  • Part C – Prizes + Insights in SJDA Activities (SJDA Special Session)
    The awards session will be followed by talks about previous activities carried out by SJDA

Event Dinner

A delicious gala dinner where delegates will enjoy and share a nice meal & high-quality social time with a touch of Sudanese flavour.

beACH picnic

On the 21st of April 2019, a group picnic will be organised to a Beach. This includes an open area for barbecue and a nearby pleasure park for kids to play and have fun. In addition, restaurants are close by for those who want to have a taste of the North East
